Life Is A Sales Job From Beginning To End

That sounds horrible doesn’t it? Especially if you hate sales.

I mean, really, sell is a four letter word and we all know four letter words are bad right?

Four letter words like… love, give, feel, good, life, and like… right?

Wait a minute. Now that doesn’t sound right.

For real, selling is bad right? Sales people are the scum of the earth. All they want to do is make money and give you bad stuff.

Stuff like iphones, televisions, tablets, computers, food, houses, cars.

All that’s bad right?

Um, so why do so many people have them? And why do so many people buy things that people sell?

So no one should sell anything right?

We should all just get everything for free.

Huh. Free. Isn’t that great?

Wait, isn’t that a four letter word too?

I’m so confused… well… not really. I’m not. Are you?

See, I happen to like selling… that is selling, when it’s done right.

What does that mean? What is selling done right?

Well I don’t know about you and for me, selling means that I’m helping people. Selling means that I’m providing a service or product that I know will help change someone’s life for the better. Selling means sharing.

You see, I don’t just sell for the sake of selling. And I definitely don’t sell something I don’t believe in. That would be unethical. In fact, anyone selling something they don’t believe in needs to stop. Right now.

Not only is it unethical, chances are, you’re hurting someone. How are you hurting them? You’re hurting them because you’re potentially providing something that’s sub-par at best full well knowing that there’s something better out there. And if that’s not the case, then you’re just selling it to make money for yourself and therefore taking money away from someone else. That’s like stealing. Wait… that’s not like stealing, that is stealing.

Listen, you should only be selling something you believe in, something you know will help people. And when you do that, the more you sell, the more you’re helping people.

Now that’s a beautiful thing.

And is it o.k. if you get something in return for helping someone?

Absolutely.

You’ve heard the saying, “You get what you give.”

You sell someone cr@p, you’re going to get cr@p. Maybe not right away, and it’ll come to you.

Help people live better lives and your life will be better… and you’ll be able to sleep at night.

So now that we’ve gotten that out of the way… you know… that… the fact that you should love selling because the more you sell, the more you’re helping people…

So now that’s out of the way, the other thing you need to understand is that life is a sales job from beginning to end.

This means you’ve been selling your entire life.

See, isn’t it much better now that you like selling?

Because if you didn’t like selling and you’ve been selling your entire life, then your life must really $uck. And I wouldn’t wish that on you or anyone for that matter.

You see, from the moment you understand how to get approval as a child, how to get friends at school, how to get your first date, your first job, your significant other, convincing your children to behave, and pretty much everything else in between, you’ve been selling yourself or others on your ideals the entire time.

You’ve got to sell your parents that you’re a good kid in order to get those birthday or Christmas gifts throughout the year. You’ve been selling your teachers that you’re a good student in order to get those A’s in class. You’ve been selling your friends that you’re a good friend in order to hang out with them and have good times. You’ve been selling, selling, selling, selling your entire life. And you’re probably pretty good at it without even knowing it.

Just imagine what you can do if you actually understood it and embraced it like most successful people do.

In fact, most successful people are successful because they’re incredible salespeople. They’re great at selling people on their vision, dreams, goals, and accomplishments. They’re great at selling people on their products and services.

If you want to succeed in business, you’ve got to sell your product or service. The more you love your product or service, the easier it is to sell. The more you sell, the more you help people and the more money you make. It’s all related.

You know who your most important customer is though?

No, not your boss. Not your business customers. Not your neighbor, your parents, your friends or your significant other (although, they can be tough customers sometimes!).

The most important customer that you’ve got to sell every single day of your life is…

Drum roll please…

Yes… you.

You see, you’ve got to sell yourself on what you think is important every single day. You’ve got to sell yourself on what you’ve got to do and accomplish every single moment in time. And the better you sell yourself on it, the more likely you’ll do something about it.

Think about it.

If you think that making a million bucks is important and yet you’re not “sold” on it because you’ve got a job; you pay the bills; you go out once in a while; and sure, you may be living paycheck to paycheck only things are taken care of – in other words, you’re comfortable where you’re at, how likely are you to go out there and work your @$$ of to make a million bucks?

Most people are sold on the fact that they’ve got to get a job and get a good paycheck to make a “living”. I’m not sure who “sold” them on that idea except they bought into it and then sold themselves on the idea because they do it every day.

If they were sold on some other idea, they’d be pursing that instead.

What about you? What are you selling yourself on every day?

Do you believe that your life would be better if you had more money? Then why don’t you get a second job? That’ll give you more money won’t it? Won’t give you more time. It’ll give you more money though. So maybe you’re not sold?
What are you sold on?

If you believe that life could be better if you had your own business, how hard are you selling yourself on it? If you believed you’re capable of much more than you’ve currently achieved, then how hard are you selling yourself on doing more?

Listen, you’ve been a salesperson your entire life. If you’re not happy where you’re at in life, isn’t it time you started selling yourself that you’re capable of more… and then do something about it?

I can talk about sales all day long and what it boils down to is convincing yourself… selling yourself… that you’re capable of more; that you can achieve more; that you can do more… more for yourself and more for others.

>The more you sell yourself on that and the more you buy into it, the more likely you’re going to succeed in achieving your dreams.

So go out there and sell. Sell more. And then keep selling. Because the more you sell, the more you’re going to change your life and the lives of others for the better.
